Maybe you’ve already heard of SplashTop, or precisely of the SplashTop version of Linux O.S. that can be ‘embedded’ in the hardware part of a device, for example the traditional computer BIOS, thus making it available instantly (it takes around 5 seconds to load) when the machine is turned on and protecting its code from malicious attacks. Well, it seems someone has spot the Asus EEE PC running SplashTop, complete with Skype and a browser. As you can see in the picture, the SplashTop Linux interface is a minimalist one (notice the small dock at the bottom), but applications run as usual with their options and functionality available to the user. The Asus EEE PC is famous for its ability of speeding the boot and loading of its Xandros OS, but such a feature wold greatly improve its usability and make it even more fast, useful and practical.
